The recent Happs

Okay what have I been up to recently?
Well making a lot of different things that's for sure. It was my Grandma's 80th birthday so Becca and I made a fondant cake for her. It was my first time making a cake with fondant and it turns out it was pretty fun. We had a great time learning how to make flowers and I think it turned out pretty good.

Next we were thinking of something to do for a couple of hours before my cousin went back home to the States so we decided to make some purses/bags. They turned out really well and we had a blast making them. After getting out all the kinks and re-reading instructions a million times, we finally finished some.

I would like feedback, does anyone like the look of these? We're actually thinking of selling them, we did get a bunch of different fabrics to do more bags and we'll see what comes of this little project.
I'm excited.

But for now I need to give my kids some much needed attention. We are having fun going to the park and being with family.

Our Family

We are having a blast with 3 kids. We love each other so much and feel so blessed to be together.

The first picture is of Jay and the kids on Father's Day. What a great father they have.

Bath time, super fun.......Not!

Oh, this is my life every time I give my kids a bath. They are happy until it's time for the dreaded hair wash. Any way I try to do it they scream and cry and then want to get out of the bath as soon as possible.
I even got them goggles to wear so the water wouldn't get in their eyes, but as soon as they felt the water down their face the goggles were off and water was everywhere and screaming ensued.
I have resorted to having them sit up and look up at the ceiling and I use a cup to pour the water just on their hair and no where else. This works pretty good, but sometimes I'm not careful enough and they feel water on their ears (heaven forbid water touches their ears) and then they start crying and here we go again.
The only good thing about this is I don't have to fight my kids to get out of the tub, they willingly jump out, I never have to ask twice.

Summer?

So I realized that the last post was winter pictures (even though it was May) and now it's turned nice out and it looks more like the summer pictures we all enjoy.
My family had a fun picnic at the park on Saturday. One of my favorite things is being with family, it is always a good time and never a dull moment.

Oh Brody, Brody, Brody. This kid makes me laugh everyday. He is always doing something or saying something funny. I love that he can talk so well because it has made for so many interesting conversations.
Brody: I go to my room yesterday, and bang on my room. (he was banging on his door)
Me: Why did you do that?
Brody: Because, because that not appropriate.
He has got on this kick about things being 'not appropriate'. I guess I say that to him too much.

He is so completely different from Jenna, but so similar in some ways, like being anal about certain things.
Brody has to have his blankets completely flat and straight for his nap time, if that doesn't happen there is no way he is going to sleep.
He definitely has a thing about lids being on jars, he can't handle them being off.
He also likes to close everything, from doors to containers, he needs to have things closed.
The minute Brody wakes up in the morning he has to have a glass of milk. If any of you know Brody he is a milkoholic. He would rather have milk than any kind of dessert or junk food.
What a cute and funny little guy.

My little Girl...

My little girl is not so little anymore. Jenna turned 4 and is growing like a weed....in a good way.
We had a wonderful party and on her real birthday it snowed and she made a snowman with her Grandpa Harker.
Jenna is so sweet and sensitive, she loves her baby brother and can't get enough of his "cuteness".
She loves to color and pretend to do almost anything. Recently she has started to pretend to go to Disneyland. This is wonderful because now I feel like she won't expect me to really take her there. She pretends to ride roller coasters and pink trains and is constantly saying "this is soooo much fun, Im sooooo excited".
Who needs the real thing when the not so real thing is so fun?
I love you Jenna, thank you for being so special.

No Pics

Really who is going to read this post, entitled, "No Pics".

I feel like I would have more pictures if I had a better camera. We are researching different cameras right now and hopefully in not too long we will have some beautiful pictures to put up.

If any of you have insight into a good camera please leave a note.
We are currently taking suggestions; if your suggestion ends up being our camera of choice, you will get your picture taken with it.

What an awesome prize. He he.

Till next time........

A little Daddy time

So, as mentioned in the previous entry, Jenna and Brody got Jay an Alien lab for his birthday. Today they played with him and had so much fun.
Jenna was so excited when we told her they were going to play with Alien guts after Family Home Evening. She kept saying "I'm sooooooo excited."
When Jay tried to scare the kids and said that the aliens were going to eat them, Jenna said "Dad they're not real" she was so not impressed that he tried to trick her.

Turns out even grown ups can have fun with toys meant for 5 year olds.

The last photo is Brody caught in the act of eating chocolates. I thought he was hiding in the closet to do "some business", but when Jay yelled out to him "Brody what are you doing in the closet", and honest two year old said "I'm just eating my chocolate."
It was pretty funny.
